Nick trained at Oxford, where he was President of OUDS. His theatre credits as an actor include roles at many regional theatres, tours for Touring Theatre London, Triumph Apollo, ATC London, Bill Kenwright, and the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre and the Globe Theatre. Parts played include the title roles in Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, and Orsino in Twelfth Night; Darlington in Lady Windemere's Fan; Able (Mosca) in the European premiere of Larry Gelbart's Sly Fox; and he created the role of Ted Ford in Phil Wilmott's award winning Stealing The Scene. Nick has worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Cymbeline, Little Eyolf, More Words, and Saint Erkenwald; and for the Royal National Theatre Studio in Much Ado About Nothing.

Television credits include The Last Place on Earth; The Gay Lord Quex; Deadhead; Watching; Jupiter Moon; Van der Valk; The Ruth Rendell Mysteries; McGyver; Numero Uno; The Bill; The Heart Surgeon; A Touch Of Frost; Ken Russell's Lady Chatterley's Lover; Lynda La Plante's Comics; and Catherine Cookson's The Cinder Path. Nick played Phil Webber in the Michael Elphick series Harry, Malcolm Lance MP in the BBC series Into The Fire, and Martin in Granada TV's The Perfect Match. He has appeared as Harris in the BBC comedy The Mystery Of Men, as Barry in Channel 4's Golden Years with Ricky Gervais, and in Two Point Four Children for the BBC. He played the lead in Little Big Mouth for Carlton TV, and appeared in Anybody's Nightmare for Carlton TV, Daddy's Girl for LWT, Fortysomething with Hugh Laurie for Carlton TV . He has recently filmed Who Gets The Dog? with Kevin Whately and Alison Steadman.

Nick is in the movie Miss Potter with Rene Zellwegger; The Altogether with Martin Freeman and was part of the voice team for Aardman's Flushed Away. He appeared as John in the Hugh Grant movie, About A Boy, as Pinworth in Restoration and has featured in many other movies including The Bounty, Box of Rain, Fierce Creatures, 102 Dalmations, Another Life and The Darkening.
